5 ways you can live a more sustainable lifestyle
Celebrating Earth Day? You should, because we’ve only got one planet. Well, there are countless out there, but this is the only one we can live on (for now), so we better start doing a better job of looking after it, shouldn't we?
Here are some handy tips from your friends at Dock & Bay, all about how you can live a little more eco-friendly and lessen your impact on our lovely world.
Reduce Plastic
We all know by now that plastic isn’t doing much good - it’s getting everywhere and causing irreparable damage.
Keep your single use plastic usage low by taking carrier bags with you as well as investing in a reusable water bottle. It’s much more stylish, anyway.
Avoid Food Waste
Over one third of all food produced globally goes to waste, which is pretty wild, especially when you consider that 8.4million in the UK are in food poverty.
Write up a shopping list to make sure you only eat the food you buy, plan your meals ahead of time and try batch cooking.
Shop Recycled Materials
Look out for products made from recycled materials, like ours, for example…
We pledged that by 2021, all of our products would be made from used plastic bottles, and we’ve achieved that across our entire range. From beach towels to make up removers and hair wraps!
Switch off
We don’t mean go and relax on the sofa with a glass of wine (although, do that too).
We mean turn off any electronics you’re not using, switch on things like low power mode and don’t keep lights on unnecessarily. You’ll probably save yourself some £££ too…
Upgrade your beauty routine
If you look in your bedroom bin right now, will you see a pile of used cotton wool? If yes, you should maybe consider switching up your skincare routine to something a little more sustainable.
Maybe some reusable make up removers instead? The kind made from recycled material that you can wash and reuse again and again.
